Fun sensory play exploring textures and colors through tactile play

Crafting Your very hungry Caterpillar: 5 Steps
1. Prepare Your Clay
Start by taking 3 different shades of green clay (or just one if that’s what you have).
Roll the clay into small balls for the caterpillar’s body segments.
2. Roll and Cut
Roll out your clay into 1/4-inch thick rolls.
Slice these rolls into small, equal-sized pieces.
Then, roll each piece into tiny balls.
3. Build the Body
Connect the clay balls into a caterpillar’s body using Mod Podge.
Dab a bit of glue between each ball to make sure they stick together. This is where your little one can practice their fine motor skills!
4. Create the Head
Take the red air-dry clay to form the caterpillar’s head.
Shape it into a small ball and attach it to one end of the body with Mod Podge.
For the eyes, use yellow and green air-dry clay to make cute little eye shapes.
If you have googly eyes, you can use those instead for an extra dose of charm.
5. Add Feet and Antennae
Roll small brown clay balls and stick them to the underside of the body to give your Very Hungry Caterpillar some adorable feet! 🐾
Next, roll tiny pieces of brown clay into thin, short sticks to make the caterpillar’s antennae.
Use a dab of Mod Podge to attach everything securely and add a touch of shine.
Crafting Fun and Memories with Your Little One
It’s okay if things get a bit silly or your first creations don’t turn out perfect—that’s part of the fun!
The real joy comes from spending time together, laughing over those quirky shapes, and letting your imagination take the lead.
Happy crafting, amazing moms! 💖
